Two weeks after the liberation of the city, the train headed for Florina stopped for a few hours in Edessa. It transported Constantine and his staff to the western front where the victorious march continued to Ioannina.
The incident became known and people gathered at the station, an event that was captured on camera.
Next to Constantine and his staff stands the liberation station commander Christos Drystaris, who was replacing the ailing Parisis Parisis.
